Cool things to do inKansas City

Welcome to Kansas City

Kansas City Kansas is considered a suburb of Kansas City Missouri, and both historic cities grew around the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers. Beginning with 18th-century fur traders’ camps, settlement continued as explorers and travelers plied the Missouri until the City of Kansas was created at the Westport river landing area in 1853. Kansas City is famous for jazz and blues music, barbecue, and historic neighborhoods like Strawberry Hill. Kaw Point Park memorializes the spot where the Lewis and Clark expedition camped June 26-28, 1804. Other popular attractions include the Wyandot National Burying Ground, many military memorial sites, and the colorful murals along Minnesota Avenue.
